Compassion Nepal was established in 2005 for the purpose of enhancing God’s kingdom on the earth through the orphanage. Since then, we have been performing our obligations well around Nepal through various ways. The government of Nepal has registered this organization happily and openly. We, as an organization, have done our best in our early days, and we will continue to do our best and even more in the days to come, for the glory of God among people. We are eager and keen to enlarge Compassion Nepal orphanages across Nepal. We hope you will also play a part in furnishing and sustaining this organization.

I have two brothers and three sister. When I was in the village, I needed to work very hard in the field. I used to cut lots of grass to feed goats, cows and buffalo. Before coming to Compassion, she worked in the fields. She attended school only occasionally, as it was an hour and a half walk away on a dirt track which was difficult to use in the rainy season. Melina says she had “problems as a child, much suffering, I could not get anything I needed from my father, like education.”
Melina likes Compassion as she says “I have more free time and live with my friends. Before I did not know about God but I have had good teaching about God now. Dev and Maya have a good role as parents.”
Now the Lord has opened the door for me to study through Compassion Orphanage Children's Home. I want to be a good nurse in future amd want to be a social worker. Please pray for me and help me to Support daily need. Thank you.

Prasamsa Thapa Magar With Sneha
My name is Prasamsa Thapa Magar. I am 8 years old. My father is drunk (alcholic) and I do
not know where he is? My Mother is totally mad and she is out of track now. When I was 3 years old mother took me and my one year old brother away from home, and we did not where we were going. She took us around the jungle (forest) of Bagjung. It was very cold and rainy. We used to sleep in the stones and we got lots of incect bites by JUKA ( which is a kind of worm that drinks animal's blood). We used to eat fruits and plant around. Later we arrived to Pokhara. (Baglung to Pokhara has very long distance) I used to ask for food and money like a beggar to feed to my mother and brother. Later police took us to the police station. Police asked my mother questions, but she did not speak. Police were going to hit my mother, I was with my mother's brother in a nearby shop, he was buying a bottle of water. I told MAMA (which is mother's brother), and ran to him, then the police called to my Mama. Mama and one of his friends were searching for us. Almost two months had gone since we had left home. It was a great joy that Mama's friend was uncle Philip and he took me to Compassion Orphanage Home. I am currently staying and studying here. I eat good food and have a good bed to sleep. My bother is also with me in the orphanage. I do not know about my mother. Please keep me in your prayer. Help me and support me. I want to be a social worker in future. I need your help to achive the goal.

I comes from a small village, and I am one of 7 children. my parents are farmers, but the land they own is not good quality and they are unable to make much money from it. I spent a lot of time doing domestic work and helping in the fields, however I had more time at school than Rhoda because I am younger. I came to Compassion a couple of years after my sister.
Subash BK
Subash’s parents separated when he was young. He lived in a refugee camp in Hetauda with his mother. His mother worked as a labourer and they were very poor. Subash had a job cleaning the school but he did not attend school as a student. The school in the village only went up to year 3, so Subash had no opportunity for education. Then he came to live at Compassion.
When he first arrived at Compassion, he was 10 years old and did not know the alphabet. He has made great progress throughout the year with the help of the orphanage and is now doing well at school. He loves going to church with everyone and wants to be a pastor when he grows up.
Anita Sunuwar
Anita’s mother died and her father remarried. Her stepmother refused to look after her and she was not fed properly or sent to school. She went to live with her elderly grandmother who was too old to care for her properly. Where she lived, there was no school. Anita says there was “bad clothes, bad food.”
Now Anita lives at Compassion. She is doing well at school and has lots of good friends. She wants to become a doctor one day.
Kabita Pariyar
Kabita’s family lived in a refugee camp. They were a very poor family and could not afford anywhere to live. Her parents went to India to work as laborers. Kabita has two siblings and it was always a struggle to put food on the table. Then Kabita’s mum became pregnant again and decided she was not able to care for Kabita as well.
A lady at the Hatauda church told Dev about her and he took her in. Kabita now lives in the orphanage and goes to a good school. She wants to be a teacher when she grows up.
Anosh Thapa
Anosh’s father left the family and then his mother passed away. Anosh lived with his grandparents who were unable to care for him as they are very elderly. Anosh caused lots of trouble and nearly burned their house down.
Now that he lives at Compassion he is much better behaved. His school work is improving and he enjoys playing with all the other children. When he grows up he wants to be a pilot, although this changes daily!
Nisa Shreshtha
Nisha came to Compassion in 2010. She comes from the Gorka region but does not know which village. Her father and mother separated and her father had 3 wives. Her mother went her own way and Nisha does not know where she is. Nisha was not being well looked after by her family, and a church member asked Dev to take her in.
When Nisha first came to Compassion she got into trouble at school and fought with the other kids. She was sent home from school for nearly biting another child’s finger off. However with the care and love shown by Dev and Maya she has become much more settled and no longer gets in trouble at school.
Nisha likes living at the orphanage because there is “good food and a puppy.”
Sundar Thapa
Sundar’s parents died when he was young. He was taken to live at another orphanage. When his orphanage closed, the other children all went to family members, but Sundar had no one to take him in. A pastor from his area heard about his situation and asked Dev to take him in.
Sundar is a very happy boy who get along well with all the children in the house, and takes good care of the younger ones. He does well at school and he wants to be a pastor when he grows up.
